A Garden Themed Gray Bridge Wedding
Amanda and Daniel’s wedding at Gray Bridge Wedding Venue (now owned by Landmark) felt like stepping into a storybook in the middle of the Pacific Northwest woods. From the moment I arrived, it was clear how much thought and heart they had poured into every detail of their day. Their love story began back in college, and you could feel that history and friendship woven into everything—from the way they looked at each other during the ceremony to the way they absolutely lit up on the dance floor later that night.
Gray Bridge is such a dreamy place for a celebration like this. Surrounded by towering trees, lush ferns, and soft, natural light, it feels like a secret garden tucked into the forest. Amanda and Daniel leaned into that feeling with a garden-inspired reception full of greenery. The tables were adorned with lush foliage, simple and elegant details, and a design that matched the setting perfectly. It all felt very organic, like the decor truly belonged there among the trees and the winding pathways. It was the kind of setting that makes a Gray Bridge wedding feel both romantic and relaxed at the same time.
One of my favorite parts of the day was how they included their adorable dog in the celebration. Their pup was such a sweet little character—trotting around with their people, soaking up attention, and stealing hearts left and right. I love when couples incorporate their pets into their wedding day; it adds such a personal touch and makes the photos feel even more like “them.” Their dog fit right into the forest setting and almost felt like a little woodland sidekick in their love story.
Their adorable dog also contributed to the charm of their Gray Bridge wedding celebration. His presence added a delightful personal touch.
The venue itself added to the sense of fun and connection. There were so many things for guests to enjoy beyond the usual cocktail hour mingling. Just next door, there were horses that guests could visit, and they quickly became a popular stop throughout the day. At one point, a friendly local cat made an appearance too, casually weaving in and out of the festivities as if it were part of the guest list. It was such a charming, small-town PNW moment, and everyone loved it.
Because we’re in the Pacific Northwest, Amanda and Daniel planned ahead for the inevitable temperature drop that comes in the evening—no matter what time of year it is. As the sun went down and the air turned crisp, they had cozy blankets ready for their guests to snuggle up in. It made the whole reception feel extra warm and inviting, like a big family gathering around a campfire. Speaking of campfires, they also had a s’mores bar, which was a huge hit. Guests roasted marshmallows, built their perfect s’mores, and gathered around to chat and laugh between trips to the dance floor. It added such a fun, nostalgic touch to the night.
The cozy blankets were a perfect addition for guests at Amanda and Daniel’s Gray Bridge wedding, enhancing the warmth of the evening.
Inside the reception space, the energy was incredibly fun. Amanda and Daniel are big dancers, and so are their friends and family, which is truly a photographer’s dream. They had practiced a choreographed first dance, and it was so fun to watch it all come together. You could tell they’d put time into it, but it still felt natural and joyful—full of spins, dips, and those quiet little smiles couples share when they’re completely in their element together. As soon as their dance ended, their guests were more than ready to jump in and keep the momentum going. The dance floor stayed packed, and the laughter and singing didn’t slow down all night.
As magical as the whole day was, nothing compared to how they chose to end the night.
Amanda and Daniel are huge Disney fans, and they incorporated that love in the sweetest way. Instead of a traditional send-off, they did a lantern release inspired by the movie Tangled. As the music from the film played, guests gathered around while lanterns were lit and gently lifted into the night sky. Watching them rise, glowing softly above the trees, felt absolutely enchanting. It was one of those moments where time seemed to slow down—the soft light of the lanterns, the reflections in the water, the song playing, and Amanda and Daniel holding each other, taking it all in. It honestly felt like a real-life Disney scene.
This enchanting lantern release was an unforgettable conclusion to their Gray Bridge wedding festivities.
By the end of the night, my heart was so full. Amanda and Daniel’s wedding at Gray Bridge had everything: a beautiful, nature-filled venue, thoughtful details, amazing dancing, adorable animals, cozy touches for guests, and a send-off straight out of a fairy tale. But more than anything, it had two people who are so clearly meant for each other, surrounded by friends and family who absolutely adore them. It was such a fun, memorable gray bridge wedding night, and I’m so grateful I got to be there to capture it all.
