Destination Engagement Session In Paris

Minee and Sam’s engagement session in Paris will always hold a special place in my heart. At the time, I was living in Paris, and when they told me they’d be visiting friends abroad, it felt like the perfect opportunity to photograph their engagement in a way that felt meaningful, effortless, and true to them. It was more than just photos — it was a shared experience and a really fun way to get to know each other better. It ended up being so much fun for all of us by the end of their session.

Paris has a way of slowing things down. It invites you to wander, observe, and just be. That energy naturally carried into their engagement session in Paris. We spent the afternoon walking through the city, talking, laughing, and stopping in places that felt right rather than overly staged. I also loved being able to show them around a bit — pointing out favorite streets, quieter corners, and places that felt authentic rather than touristy.

They chose to wear neutral colors, which I always recommend for photos in Paris. Soft creams, tans, blacks, and muted tones photograph beautifully against the stone buildings and historic streets. Paris already has so much visual texture, and wearing neutrals allows the couple — not the clothing — to be the focus. Bright colors can sometimes feel distracting in this city, and Minee and Sam absolutely nailed their wardrobe choices for their engagement session in Paris. If you are looking for some shops to find pieces to wear, check out Lulu’s, Nordstrom, H&M, and Anthropologie.

Because they hadn’t taken professional photos together before, I approached their session with a lot of intention around comfort. When couples are new to being photographed, standing still and posing can feel awkward very quickly. To help ease that, I incorporated a lot of movement — walking, turning toward each other, small interactions, and gentle prompts that allowed them to stay connected instead of feeling “on display.” Movement almost always helps couples relax, and it was amazing to see how quickly they settled into the experience.

It was a cold winter day in Paris, and the sky was overcast with that soft, diffused light the city is known for in the winter months. It was definitely chilly — one of those days where your hands start to feel numb faster than you expect — but Minee and Sam did such a great job hiding it. If you didn’t know better, you’d never guess how cold it actually was. The overcast skies added to the mood, creating a timeless, romantic feel that worked beautifully for their Engagement Session In Paris.

What stood out most to me during their session was how playful they were with each other. There was an ease in the way they interacted — subtle laughter, quiet moments, and that comfortable closeness that doesn’t need direction. Even in the cold, their connection felt warm. I really do feel like I was able to capture both their love for each other and their lightheartedness throughout their Engagement Session In Paris.

Paris is an incredible city for engagement photos, but what truly makes a session special is the couple themselves. Minee and Sam brought so much joy, trust, and openness to the experience, and it showed in every frame. Their session felt natural, relaxed, and genuinely them — which is always the goal.

Looking back, knowing where their story led — to such a heartfelt wedding day surrounded by family and culture — makes this Engagement Session In Paris feel even more meaningful. It was the beginning of documenting their journey together, set against one of the most timeless cities in the world.

Be sure to check out more of my photoshoots in Paris on the blog! I have so many that I was able to capture during my time living there. It’s still one of my favorite places to take photos, especially couples!
