Sodo Park Wedding In Seattle
I’ve been a little bit MIA on the blog lately, and for once it wasn’t because of travel or a packed shooting schedule—it was because I decided to tackle painting my house. Let’s just say my body felt it. My arms were sore, my back was tired, and my hands and fingernails were completely covered in dried paint for days. But even though the blog took a tiny pause, it was for a good reason. Every time I walk through my freshly painted rooms now, I feel so much happier as a homeowner, and that little reset has me feeling extra inspired as I jump back into sharing more beautiful weddings with you.
One of the weddings I’ve been so excited to revisit is Mia and Adam’s celebration at SoDo Park in Seattle. These two are such a super fun and silly couple—the kind of people who make you feel instantly at ease. You can absolutely tell they’re best friends. They joke together, they’re playful, and they’re so relaxed in front of the camera, which made photographing their day such a joy. Their Sodo Park wedding was truly unforgettable. The energy and love surrounding their Sodo Park wedding made it an event to remember.
For their portraits, Mia really wanted to spend a little time right in the heart of Seattle, and I loved that idea. There’s something so special about weaving the city you love into your wedding story. We wandered around downtown, using the urban textures, crosswalks, and classic Seattle backdrops as part of their portraits. The mix of soft, romantic moments between them against the energy of the city gave their gallery such a fun variety—elegant in some frames, playful and full of movement in others.
The details of their Sodo Park wedding really showcased their personalities and love for each other.
After our time in the city, we headed to SoDo Park for their reception. If you’ve never been, SoDo Park is truly magical. It’s tucked into Seattle’s industrial district, but when you step inside, it feels warm, inviting, and incredibly romantic. I love the high ceilings, exposed beams, and brick walls paired with soft lighting and thoughtful décor. It’s one of those venues that can feel grand and intimate at the same time, and it’s honestly one of my favorite places in downtown Seattle for a wedding.
Mia and Adam’s reception fit the space perfectly—full of laughter, good energy, and so many sweet moments. The toasts were lighthearted and perfectly sweet, just like their cake. There were plenty of stories and inside jokes, the kind of speeches that make everyone smile and tear up in the same breath. As I moved around the room photographing their guests, I kept noticing how much people were genuinely enjoying themselves—friends doubled over laughing, family members with that proud, emotional look in their eyes, and Mia and Adam soaking it all in together.
The whole day felt so “them”—easygoing, joyful, a little bit silly, and full of heart. From strolling through the middle of Seattle for portraits to ending the night under the warm glow of SoDo Park’s lights, their wedding was such a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do. Even on chilly, drizzly Pacific Northwest days, love-filled celebrations like this one make everything feel bright.
I’m so glad I finally get to share more of Mia and Adam’s day here. Fresh paint on the walls, full memory cards, and stories like theirs to tell? I’d say that’s a pretty wonderful place to be.
