A Seattle Wedding At The Foundry

Elaine and Steven’s wedding was one of those days that reminded me why I absolutely love what I do. From start to finish, their celebration was full of meaning, tradition, and so much joy—and getting to photograph a Jewish wedding always feels extra special to me. I come from Jewish heritage myself, and many of my family members are Jewish, so stepping into these celebrations often feels a little bit like coming home. The rituals, the blessings, the dancing—it all tells such a beautiful story about love, family, and community.

We started the day with portraits at Volunteer Park in Seattle, which was the perfect backdrop for their pre-ceremony photos. Volunteer Park is a historic Olmsted-designed park on Capitol Hill, known for its sweeping lawns, tree-lined paths, Conservatory, and the Seattle Asian Art Museum. The soft greenery, elegant architecture, and wide-open spaces gave us so many gorgeous spots to work with. Elaine and Steven were relaxed, playful, and completely themselves, and you could already feel how loved they are just by watching the way their families and friends interacted with them.

Every couple deserves a beautiful Seattle wedding at the Foundry, where unique memories are created.

Choosing the right dress is essential for a memorable Seattle wedding at the Foundry. Elaine looked absolutely radiant in her gown from Bellevue Bridal, designed by Justin Alexander. Her dress had that perfect mix of timeless and contemporary—refined, romantic, and so flattering on her. Steven looked incredibly sharp in his suit from The Tuxedo Club, which brought a classic, polished look that matched the overall style of the day.

Their stationery was a beautiful mix of pieces from Minted and Mulberry Market Designs, which added a personal and stylish touch to everything from invitations to day-of signage. It all tied in so well with the overall look and feel of the wedding.

Pairing the invites with the theme of your Seattle wedding at the Foundry can elevate the whole experience.

Getting Ready

Hair and makeup were done by Kat Green Makeuplove, who did a beautiful job enhancing Elaine’s natural features while making sure everything lasted through happy tears, dancing, and all the hugs. The entire look came together so seamlessly.

The Wedding Design

Each detail is planned to perfection for a beautiful seattle wedding at the foundry.

Inside The Foundry, everything came together beautifully. Willow & Ivy Events, led by the amazing Alex Hamilton, planned and coordinated the day with such care and intention. Alex and her team are always so much fun to work with—they bring this great mix of organization, creativity, and calm energy that instantly makes everyone feel taken care of.

The floral design by Oak and Fig Floral was stunning. Their arrangements added softness and romance to the industrial space, with thoughtful textures and colors that complemented The Foundry’s warm tones and architectural details. Oak and Fig is known for bespoke, heartfelt floral designs, and you could absolutely feel that here.

In every corner of the venue, love fills the air, especially during a seattle wedding at the foundry.

Before The Ceremony

From there, we headed to the wedding venue: The Foundry by Herban Feast for the ceremony and reception. The Foundry is such a gem of a venue in Seattle’s SODO neighborhood—an industrial-chic space that used to be a copper and steel manufacturing facility and has now been transformed into a warm, stylish event space. It features a dramatic stone fireplace, a rain waterfall installation, wine barrel racks, concrete floors, and rustic barn doors that give it so much character. It’s the kind of venue that feels modern and urban, but still cozy and inviting, which was the perfect match for Elaine and Steven’s vision.

Many couples dream of a perfect seattle wedding at the foundry, and it truly delivers.

Of course, one of the major highlights of having a wedding at The Foundry is the food, and Herban Feast did not disappoint. They’re known for their seasonal, customizable menus and elevated farm-to-table style dining, and everything looked and smelled incredible. Guests were treated to delicious courses and beautiful presentation throughout the evening, which matched the overall experience perfectly.

Guests will rave about the exquisite cuisine at a seattle wedding at the foundry.

For dessert, the couple chose a cake and sweets from Lady Grey Cake Design—a Seattle bakery known for their artful, hand-crafted buttercream cakes. Their desserts always feel like little works of art, and they fit right in with the elegant, modern feel of the reception.

To wrap up the night, a cake that embodies the essence of a seattle wedding at the foundry is a must.

The Ceremony

Incorporating traditions makes every seattle wedding at the foundry a unique experience.

Their ceremony, led by Rabbi Jessica Marshall, was heartfelt and full of rich Jewish tradition. I loved watching the way the rituals drew everyone in—family members leaning closer during blessings, quiet smiles during readings, and those meaningful glances shared between Elaine and Steven. Jewish weddings are always so full of symbolism and connection, and this was no exception.

The Reception

As the night progresses, the celebration of a Seattle wedding at the foundry becomes unforgettable.

The reception was such a joyful celebration. Magnolia Rhapsody kept the dance floor packed all night with amazing music and great energy. There was so much laughter, incredible dancing (you know a Jewish wedding dance floor is going to be good!), and those in-between moments I love capturing—parents watching from the side with proud eyes, friends linking arms, and all the little exchanges that you might miss in the middle of the excitement.

A lively atmosphere captivates everyone during a Seattle wedding at the foundry.

By the end of the night, my cheeks honestly hurt from smiling behind the camera. Elaine and Steven, your families were so kind and welcoming, and it was truly an honor to be invited into such an important day in your lives. Thank you for trusting me to document your beautiful celebration.

Every moment captured tells a story of a beautiful Seattle wedding at the Foundry.
