Swan Trail Farms Wedding

This beautiful summer day with Katie and Keith was everything I love about weddings—joyful, relaxed, and full of personal touches that made their Swan Trail Farms wedding feel completely their own. From the moment I arrived, there was this soft, golden light, easy laughter, and that buzz of excitement that always hangs in the air right before a ceremony. I had the chance to work with some of my all-time favorite vendors, which made the day even more fun. Gina from From The Ground Up Floral and filmmaker Brandon Ghorley were there sharing their talents, and I remember thinking (again) how lucky I am to work in an industry filled with such kind, creative people. It honestly makes my “job” feel like anything but work.

Katie and Keith were adorable together. Keith is so sweet with Katie, and you can see it in the way he looks at her in every single photo. One of my favorite details from their Swan Trail Farms wedding was their subtle Winnie the Pooh theme, inspired by the sweet nicknames they have for each other. It wasn’t over-the-top or kitschy—just little nods sprinkled throughout the day that made everything feel extra personal and charming. Those are the kinds of details that make a Swan Trail Farms wedding feel less like a styled event and more like a true reflection of the couple.

Their friends and family played such a big role in bringing the day to life. So many of their loved ones helped with setup and decorating, which gave everything that warm, handmade feel. The “welcome” sign at the entrance was created by one of their guests and quickly became one of my favorite pieces of decor. It set the tone perfectly as people arrived—inviting, heartfelt, and completely “them.” I love when a Swan Trail Farms wedding includes those kind of personal touches; it fits the farm’s atmosphere so well.

Katie’s dress was absolutely breathtaking. The low back on her gown was stunning and so elegant—every time she turned or walked away, the back of that dress stole the show. The way it moved when we walked around the property, the way the light hit the fabric, the way Keith looked at her when she wasn’t watching—it all added up to some of the dreamiest portraits from their Swan Trail Farms wedding. I only wished their adorable dog could have been there to complete the picture, but even in spirit, you could tell he was part of their little family story.

Of course, one of the true stars of the day was the venue itself. Their Swan Trail Farms wedding took place at the lovely Swan Trail Farms in Snohomish, Washington—a historic farm that’s been sitting peacefully along the banks of the Snohomish River for more than 100 years. A Swan Trail Farms wedding gives you so much natural beauty in one place: pastoral fields, scenic views of Mount Baker and the Cascade Range, and that soft, open-country feel that makes everything seem a little more relaxed and romantic. The renovated barn, the pond with its fountain, the waterfall, and the surrounding gardens all come together to create a setting that feels like it was made for summer weddings.

One of the reasons I love photographing a Swan Trail Farms wedding is the variety of spaces you can use throughout the day. The large, partially open barn looks out over the pond and farm, giving you an incredible backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions. The patio area, draped with strings of clear globe lights, becomes this enchanting outdoor dance floor once the sun goes down. There are multiple ceremony locations to choose from, charming spots for a first look, and wide grassy lawns that are perfect for sunset portraits. For Katie and Keith, it meant we could wander around the property and create so many different looks without ever leaving the venue.

As the afternoon turned into evening, the light at their Swan Trail Farms wedding just kept getting better. The sun dipped low over the fields, casting everything in that dreamy, golden glow that makes Snohomish valley weddings so special. Guests mingled between the barn, the lawn, and the patio, soaking in the views and the warm air. Inside, the reception space felt cozy and welcoming, with just enough rustic charm to highlight the farm setting while still feeling elegant and polished.

The whole day was filled with the kind of moments I love capturing—Katie laughing with her bridesmaids, Keith joking with his groomsmen, parents wiping away quiet tears during the ceremony, and friends cheering loudly during toasts. Their Swan Trail Farms wedding had that perfect balance of beautiful details and real, unscripted emotion. By the time the dancing started under the lights, it felt like everyone had fully settled into celebration mode, and the joy in the barn was palpable.

Looking back on Katie and Keith’s Swan Trail Farms wedding, what stands out to me most is how sweet, genuine, and joy-filled it was. Nothing felt forced or overly staged—it was simply a beautiful summer wedding with two people who adore each other, surrounded by a community that clearly loves them. If you’re dreaming of a celebration with pastoral views, a renovated barn, romantic ponds and waterfalls, and plenty of space for your favorite people, a Swan Trail Farms wedding is such a lovely option. Katie and Keith’s day is one I’ll always remember with a big smile and a very full heart.
