We arrived in the late afternoon as the light was just beginning to soften toward golden hour. Marissa and Kevin set up their picnic near the dunes — a plaid blanket, a beautiful spread of their favorite things, and a chilled bottle of rosé that Kevin opened with slightly too much enthusiasm, sending the cork sailing into the sand. Parked at the edge of the beach and glowing in the evening light, it made for one of the most romantic and personal backdrops I’ve ever photographed. Tolovana Beach
South of Haystack Rock, Tolovana Beach offers quieter shores and expansive views of the coastline with Haystack Rock visible in the distance. The wider expanse of sand here is perfect for movement-based shots — running, dancing, the kind of candid joy that produces some of the most emotionally powerful images of any session.
Ecola State Park
Just north of Cannon Beach, Ecola State Park offers sweeping vistas of the coastline and lush forested trails, including the Crescent Beach Overlook — an iconic panoramic viewpoint that captures the rugged beauty of the Oregon Coast.
