A Very Elegant Maternity Session In Seattle
Happy Mother’s Day Weekend To All The Mothers
When I think back on this beautiful maternity session in Seattle, the word that keeps coming to mind is intentional. Everything about it—each detail, every element—was thoughtfully curated to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime moment in the most elegant way possible.
From the very start, this mama-to-be approached her session with a clear vision. She wanted to honor this chapter with softness, femininity, and grace. And oh, did she deliver.
She started by ordering the most stunning pressed paper announcements, complete with delicate calligraphy that felt like an heirloom in the making. It was such a unique and timeless touch—something you don’t see often for maternity photos, and yet it added such a personal, meaningful layer to the session.
And then there was the cake. Yes, a maternity cake! Not just any cake either—this one was breathtaking. It was decorated in soft hues that tied perfectly into the pastel floral arrangements she brought along. The florals added so much life and beauty to every photo. Everything felt cohesive, from the textures to the tones. It was romantic, elevated, and full of softness.
She brought three different outfits, and each one told its own story. We began with a delicate lace gown—classic and ethereal. The lace caught the light beautifully, creating that timeless, glowing look that I love so much for maternity sessions. Then came a show stopping pink pastel ball gown (which she rented). It was straight out of a dream—whimsical, bold, and utterly beautiful. We ended the session with a white chiffon gown that flowed with the breeze and brought a softness to the final images that felt so peaceful and serene.
I truly believe all maternity sessions should be this well thought out. Not because of the aesthetic (though it was stunning), but because of the care and reverence it brought to the experience. When clients take the time to slow down and plan—from outfits to small meaningful details like announcements or florals—it elevates the entire session. It turns a moment into a memory. A photo into a feeling.
This session reminded me why I love what I do. It’s not just about taking beautiful photos—it’s about telling a story, honoring a season of life, and creating something that lasts.
To this incredible mama: thank you for trusting me with your vision. Your session was one I’ll never forget.
