A Romantic Roche Harbor Resort Wedding

Roche Harbor Washington, feels like stepping into a dream—a place where time slows down, and beauty surrounds you at every turn. Tucked away on San Juan Island, it’s one of those magical destinations that makes you feel like you’re living in a fairytale. For Janin and Connor, it was the perfect setting to celebrate their love story, and honestly, I can’t imagine a more beautiful weekend.

For couples dreaming of a picturesque setting, a Roche Harbor Resort wedding offers an unforgettable experience. No matter what year you get married at this destination wedding venue in Washington, you are bound to get the most stunning, romantic and dreamy wedding photos.

A Sunset Rehearsal Dinner to Remember

The weekend kicked off with the most stunning sunset rehearsal dinner I’ve ever seen. The golden light reflecting off the water, the soft hum of boats in the harbor, and the warm breeze made everything feel effortless and perfect. It was an amazing wedding rehearsal, but not as amazing at their Roche Harbor Resort wedding the very next day.

And the food—oh my gosh, the food! It was next-level amazing. From the freshest seafood to garden-picked vegetables and handmade breads, every single dish was unforgettable. I even love their salads and I am not even a salad person. People couldn’t stop talking about the meatballs and grilled salmon (and honestly, I’m still dreaming about them). Paired with crisp local wines and heartfelt toasts, the night was filled with so much laughter and love, it set the tone for everything that followed.

Saying ‘I Do’ in the Garden

Janin and Connor’s destination wedding ceremony took place in Roche Harbor famous Sunken Garden, and let me tell you—it was pure magic. Surrounded by vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and twinkling lights, it felt like something out of a fairytale. I loved the neutral colors Janin picked for her bouquet and for the arch.

The couple’s vows were so heartfelt and personal, there wasn’t a dry eye in the garden. You could feel how much love and intention they poured into every word, and it made the moment feel even more special. I loved that Janin had her brother officiate the wedding, too. This was a very sweet gesture and one both will probably always remember.

Watching Connor break down in tears when he saw Janin for the first time down the aisle was a moment I will always remember. It was so tender and special. I think his emotions were also so raw because of the beautiful friends and family member that traveled to this destination wedding venue. It really means so much to couples when they know that their guests traveled near and far for their wedding day, even if it is at the stunning Roche Harbor Resort.

As the sun started to set, everyone moved to the Pavilion for the reception, where candlelit tables and seasonal blooms created this warm, intimate vibe. And their first dance? It was one of those moments that made everyone stop and take it all in—the kind of memory that sticks with you forever. This was truly a romantic summer wedding at Roche Harbor Resort. Every detail was luxurious and well though out.

Dancing Under the Stars

The party didn’t stop there. Guests danced the night away to live music, stepping outside now and then to soak in the crisp night air and take in the harbor views. The resort had the most beautiful twinkle lights that made the evening that much more romantic.

And let’s talk about dessert—because it was incredible. Janin and Connor’s tiered wedding cake, decorated with fresh flowers, was almost too pretty to eat. Almost. Add in a spread of handmade pastries, and let’s just say no one left hungry. I loved how we got Janin to play around a little with the cake as she snuck a taste in before it was cut. Janin and Connor decided not to do a cake cutting, so it was served before everyone started dancing.

A Weekend to Remember

Janin and Connor’s Roche Harbor Resort wedding wasn’t just beautiful—it was an experience. From the golden-hour rehearsal dinner to the heartfelt ceremony and the epic dance party, every single detail reflected their love story. This destination wedding venue in Washington is definitely one to keep in mind when looking for a wedding venue near Seattle.

If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding or a coastal wedding venue that’s equal parts charm and elegance, Roche Harbor is the place to be. Janin and Connor’s Roche Harbor Resort wedding is proof that when love, intention, and a stunning location come together, magic is bound to happen. This was such a romantic summer wedding on Friday Harbor.

If you are looking at getting married, look no further than at Roche Harbor Resort wedding. I highly recommend doing it. And be sure to check out a very intimate and beautiful Roche Harbor elopement from a few years ago. It’s still one of my favorites I have photographed at Roche Harbor Resort.
