Sodo Park Wedding: Aimee and Philippe
Philippe and Aimee’s wedding at SoDo Park was one of those days that felt effortlessly cool and deeply romantic all at the same time. Tucked in Seattle’s industrial SoDo district, the venue has soaring ceilings, exposed beams, and brick walls, but somehow still manages to feel soft and warm once the candles are lit and the room fills with people. It’s one of the big reasons I love photographing weddings there—industrial on the outside, but so cozy and romantic on the inside.
Philippe and Aimee started their day getting ready in their Seattle apartment, surrounded by their closest people and all the little details that make their space feel like home. One of my favorite parts of their timeline was their first look. Instead of meeting at the venue, they chose to see each other for the first time on the roof of their apartment building. With the Seattle skyline around them and the city they love spread out below, it was such a personal and meaningful setting. There was this quiet pause in the middle of a busy wedding day where it was just the two of them, taking a deep breath together before everything really got started.
I also loved all of the personality they wove into their details. Philippe wore Batman cufflinks, which felt like such a fun peek into who he is. Little touches like that are some of my favorite things to photograph—tiny nods to the couple’s story that might be missed by some on the day, but will always show up in their gallery. And of course, one of the absolute stars of the day was their adorable Boston terrier puppy. They brought their pup to SoDo Park, and it was the cutest thing seeing this little dog trot around, soak up attention, and be part of such an important day. I’m always a fan of couples including their pets whenever possible—it makes the day feel even more like “them.”
Once we arrived at SoDo Park, everything came together beautifully. Inside, the space was filled with warm light, candles, and thoughtful decor that softened the industrial edges of the building. The tall windows, wood beams, and open layout created such an inviting atmosphere for both the ceremony and reception. Even with its warehouse roots, SoDo Park has this way of feeling intimate and romantic once the lights are dimmed and the room is full of people.
Their ceremony was heartfelt and full of emotion. Surrounded by friends and family, they exchanged vows under the high ceilings and glowing lights, with their Boston terrier making a very memorable appearance. You could feel how much their people love them—there were happy tears, big smiles, and that relaxed, joyful energy that makes a wedding day feel so special.
For the reception, SoDo Park truly shined. One of the many reasons I love this venue is the incredible in-house catering team, Herban Feast Catering. Their food is always so good and beautifully presented, and the service matches the quality. Guests were treated to an amazing meal that matched the elevated, cozy vibe of the space perfectly. Great food and a warm atmosphere are such a powerful combination, and you could see everyone settling in, relaxing, and really enjoying themselves.
As the night went on, the party energy definitely did not disappoint. The wedding party was so much fun—up for anything, constantly laughing, and fully committed to making sure Philippe and Aimee had the best night. Once the dance floor opened, it stayed busy. There were big group dances, sweet slow moments, and plenty of hilarious in-between moves. All of it felt like such an authentic reflection of who they are and the community they’ve built around them.
Looking back on Philippe and Aimee’s SoDo Park wedding, I think about all of those layers together: a meaningful first look on their rooftop, personal touches like Batman cufflinks and their Boston terrier puppy, the warm industrial-romantic atmosphere of SoDo Park, and the incredible meal from Herban Feast Catering. It was a day that felt stylish, heartfelt, and genuinely fun from beginning to end—and such a joy to photograph.
