My Favorite Photography Accessories: Tools That Make the Job Easier and Cooler

Over my 16 years in the photography business, I’ve tried and tested countless accessories. Some were a passing phase, while others have become indispensable parts of my workflow. Today, I want to share a few of my favorite accessories that not only make my job easier but also add a little flair to my setup. These are the tools I can’t live without, and if you’re a photographer, they might just change the game for you too!

1. Spider Holster: My Utility Belt for Photography

The Spider Holster is, hands down, one of my all-time favorite accessories. Not only that but I have had it the longest. At weddings, people often tell me it looks like something straight out of a superhero movie — “like Batman or something,” they say. And honestly, they’re not wrong. This holster allows me to securely carry my camera on my hip, keeping my hands free when I’m not shooting. It’s a lifesaver during long sessions or events when I need to move quickly and keep my camera easily accessible. Plus, it’s ergonomic, reducing strain on my neck and shoulders compared to traditional camera straps.

2. Peak Design Bag: Comfort Meets Functionality

I was gifted this bag but it’s become another favorite accessory of mine. Finding the perfect camera bag is like finding the perfect pair of shoes, especially on wedding days. It needs to be comfortable, durable, and stylish. My Peak Design bag checks all those boxes and more. It’s super comfortable, even when I’m carrying a full load of gear, and the thoughtful design makes accessing my equipment a breeze. Whether I’m on location or traveling for a shoot, this bag keeps everything organized and within reach. It’s a must-have for any photographer who values both form and function. Go check it out- I promise it’ll blow your mind!

3. Water-Resistant Anti-Shock SD Card Holder: Organization is Key

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that staying organized is crucial in photography. The Water-

Resistant Anti-Shock Holder for SD cards has been a game-changer for me. Not only does it keep my SD cards safe from accidental damage, but it also helps me stay on top of which cards are in use and which are empty.

4. Stick-On Camera Memory Card Labels: Stay Organized in Style

After back to back weddings I can sometimes get disorganized with my SD cards. These labels are a small but mighty addition to my organizational tools. With the  Stick-On Camera Memory Card Labels, I can easily mark what’s on each card, making it a breeze to find the right one during a shoot. Combined with my SD card holder, these labels help me maintain order and avoid any unnecessary stress.

5. Lexar Gold Series Professional SD Cards: Reliability I Can Trust

When it comes to SD cards, reliability is everything. The Lexar Gold Series Professional SD cards have earned my trust time and time again. With their high-speed performance and robust build quality, I never have to worry about losing precious shots or dealing with slow write speeds during fast-paced shoots. These cards are an essential part of my kit, giving me the confidence to focus on capturing the moment without any technical hiccups.

Why These Accessories Matter

Every photographer has their unique style and preferences, but the right tools can make all the difference. For me, these accessories enhance my workflow, keep me organized, and add a touch of personality to my setup. Whether it’s the superhero-like vibe of the Spider Holster, the comfort of the Peak Design bag, or the peace of mind from reliable SD card storage, these items are more than just gear — they’re part of what helps me deliver my best work.

If you’re looking to elevate your photography game, I highly recommend giving these accessories a try. Have a favorite accessory of your own? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!

One last thing I forgot to mention is with all the traveling that I do, I need a reliable roller bag to carry all my gear in. This Neewer bag has it all.
