Fremont Foundry Wedding Editorial
Every year, I try to team up with a group of incredibly talented creatives and put together a styled shoot—partly for fun, partly for inspiration, and partly to see who I can confidently refer to my couples in the upcoming wedding season. This particular Burgundy Bride styled shoot at the Fremont Foundry was one of those projects that came together even better than I imagined. It reminded me why I love collaborating with other vendors so much and how rich, moody color can be every bit as elegant as the light and airy palettes we see so often.
From the beginning, I knew I wanted to do something different from the usual soft pastels and bright tones that had been everywhere at the time. I was craving depth—dark, romantic hues that felt luxurious and a little bit dramatic. The entire inspiration for this shoot started with the dress. I fell in love with a gown by Jenny Packham, one of my all-time favorite bridal designers. The intricate beading and vintage-inspired silhouette were the perfect match for the vision I had in mind: rich burgundy tones, layered textures, and an elevated, editorial feel. Once the dress was chosen, everything else began to fall into place.
We hosted the shoot at the Fremont Foundry, an industrial-chic venue in the heart of Seattle. I loved the idea of contrasting the rough, urban architecture with something very refined and romantic. The clean lines, concrete, and metal elements of the space created a stunning backdrop for the deep colors, candlelight, and lush florals we brought in. It was the perfect canvas for a look that was both modern and timeless.
I was so lucky to have an amazing team on board. For hair and makeup, I worked with Yessie Makeup Artistry. You truly can’t go wrong having Yessie on your side—she’s so dang talented. She created a look that felt glamorous but not overdone, with soft, glowing skin and beautifully defined eyes that paired perfectly with the dramatic gown and color palette.
Florals were designed by my sweet friend Gina of From the Ground Up Floral. We’ve worked together on several styled shoots, and she blows me away every single time. For this one, she leaned fully into the rich, moody tones I was dreaming of—burgundy, deep reds, touches of blush and cream, and plenty of greenery for texture. The arrangements were full, romantic, and completely show-stopping, adding depth and movement to every scene we created.
No elegant shoot is complete without something sweet, and I was so excited to include macarons by Tanya. I’ve been to Paris and traveled all over, and I can honestly say I have never tasted a better macaron than hers—I’m obsessed. They were not only delicious but also styled beautifully into the tablescape, adding just the right touch of European charm.
Bringing all of these elements together required someone with a strong eye for design and killer organizational skills, and that’s where Wedding Wise came in. Julia, the coordinator, took the vision we talked through and brought it to life in a way that exceeded my expectations. Even though this wasn’t a “real” wedding, she treated it with so much care and professionalism. She kept everything running smoothly and wove all the vendor contributions into one seamless, cohesive look.
To complete the design, Julia pulled in beautiful pieces from Vintage Ambiance and Grand Event Rentals, along with gorgeous paper goods from Ink Allure. The rentals added so much character—vintage-inspired furniture, candleholders, and decor that perfectly complemented our rich color palette. The stationery tied everything together with elegant typography and thoughtful details, adding that final layer of polish to the table and invitation suite.
Of course, none of it would have had the same impact without a bride to bring the story to life. Our beautiful model, Giselle, was incredible. She slipped into the Jenny Packham gown as if it were made for her, and every pose, glance, and movement added emotion and dimension to the images. She carried the mood of the shoot—strong, romantic, and a little bit mysterious—so effortlessly.
In the end, this Burgundy Bride styled shoot became everything I had hoped for: a celebration of rich color, thoughtful design, and creative collaboration. It reminded me that you don’t always have to go light and airy for a wedding to feel elegant and timeless. Deep, saturated hues can be just as beautiful—especially when they’re paired with the right team, the right venue, and a clear creative vision.
I walked away from the Fremont Foundry that day feeling inspired, grateful, and so excited to share these ideas with couples who might be drawn to something a little moodier and more dramatic for their wedding day. If you’re dreaming of a burgundy, jewel-toned, or richly romantic celebration, I hope this shoot gives you all kinds of ideas for what’s possible.
