Over the past 12 years of being in business, I still get asked what my favorite wedding venues are. To be completely honest, I really enjoy them all. I enjoy the uniqueness, scenery and architecture of all of the wedding venues I have been able to photograph (even the backyard ones). However, that being said, there are ones that definitely stick out more than others due to the fact that they are so rich in design.
Top 5 Most Romantic Wedding Venues In Washington State
I shot my very first wedding back in 2009 at Lairmont Manor. It’s been a very special place for me ever since. There is so much character at this venue and almost every corner there is a bit of magic that is absolutely picture perfect. It has a gorgeous indoor and outdoor location, which is important when looking for places in the Pacific Northwest (since you never know what weather you are going to get).
Lakewold is like a little English secret garden on the outside and an antique piece of art on the inside. There is SO much personality at this gorgeous venue just a little south of Seattle. It makes me feel like I am in England somewhere. If you don’t believe me, take a look at an older blog post of a Summer wedding I was able to photograph in 2017. It also has great indoor and outdoor options for any wedding year round.
Roche is my little piece of Heaven on Earth. There is something pretty magical here. This is a great venue for those who love to boat or just be outdoors. Many of my couples who have gotten married here have been in the Navy, so a nautical themed wedding is pretty perfect. However, there have been a lot of other beautiful and equally romantic weddings that have taken place here, including intimate elopements with just the bride and groom. Plus, I have to brag about the staff. They are always so helpful and kind no matter what may arise. There is a lot to do on Friday Harbor, so it makes for a great destination wedding venue.
Swiftwater is a great destination location that isn’t quite destination. Staying in the mountains, no matter what time of year it is, makes you feel like you are on a true vacation. Guests love this place for all the outdoorsy people and also the spas and amazing food and wine. I have photographed many weddings all year round here, and I can tell you first hand, it’s stunning no matter what season it is. It does get a bit windy, which means it makes for great veil photos, so don’t forget a wedding veil and extra bobby pins to keep it in your head!
Last but truly not least, this wedding venue is pure magic. If you are looking for a little piece of Italy, this is your dream wedding venue! The inside and outside has the cutest little nooks and great photo spots. It’s romantic, elegant, quant and it’s simply going to impress your wedding guests.
There are plenty more amazing venues, but these are for sure the top 5 most romantic ones that came to mind. I would love to know if you have any other ones that you think could make my list. You can always do a backyard wedding and hire an amazing designer to make it romantic and elegant!
